1、VCCSTransferGuideAcademicYear2017-18ThisTransferGuideisdesignedtoassiststudentswithintheVirginiaCommunityCollegeSystem(VCCS)haveasmoothtransitiontoRadfordUniversity(RU).Uponadmission,alltransferstudentswillreceiveanofficialcourseevaluation.Non-VCCSstudentsmayuseth

2、isguideasageneralreference,butshouldrelyontheofficialtransferevaluationforverificationofcourseequivalencies.PathwaystoTransfer1.CompletionofaVCCSTransferableAssociateDegreeInaccordancewiththeStatePolicyonTransfer(1993),studentswhotransfertoRadfordUniversityfromaVi

3、rginiaCommunityCollegewillhavesatisfiedRU’sCoreCurriculumrequirementsifanyofthefollowingismet:?thestudenthasbythetimeoftransferearnedanAssociateofArts,AssociateofScience,orAssociateofArtsandSciencedegreefromaVirginiaCommunityCollege;or?thestudentisabletoearnsuchad

4、egreebysuccessfullycompletingataVirginiaCommunityCollegecoursesremainingfortheapplicableassociatedegreeconcurrentlywiththefirstsemesterofenrollmentatRU;or?thestudentwillearnanapplicableassociatedegreeasaresultofcreditearnedduringhisorherfirstsemesterofenrollmentat

5、RU,uptoamaximumof10hours.StudentswhohaveearnedanAssociateofGeneralStudieswillsatisfyRU’sCoreCurriculumrequirementsiftheinstitutionawardingthedegreehasbeenapprovedbySCHEVassatisfyingtheStatePolicyonTransfer.AlistofapprovedinstitutionsisfoundattheSCHEVwebsite.Fortho

6、sestudentswhoearnedanAssociateofGeneralStudiesataninstitutionnotonthelistofapprovedinstitutions,acourse-by-coursetransfercreditevaluationwillbeperformed.Studentsshouldbeawarethatmanyprogramshavemajor-specificrequirementsorprerequisitessatisfiedthroughtheCoreCurric

7、ulum.Thesecoursesarerequiredaspartofthemajor.StudentscompletingaVCCSTransferableAssociateDegreemaybeeligibleforadmissionundertheVCCSandRadfordUniversityGuaranteedAdmissionAgreement.12.ArticulationAgreementsRadfordUniversityhaspartneredwithVCCSandindividualcommunit

8、ycollegestocreatearticulationagreements.ThesespecialagreementsdefinethewaycoursesanddegreeprogramstransfertoRadfordUniversityandmayincludeadmissionguara
