    2、viousprovisions,andarenolongerafunctionoftheplasticstrengthsofthepanelzoneandadjoiningbeams.Rather,theyarebasedonthepremisethattheframingbeamsandthepanelzonebothyieldsimultaneouslytopromotecontrolledinelasticparticipationofbothcomponents.Thispaperevaluatesand

    3、discussesthenewprovisionsbasedonanexaminationofpublishedtestdataandtheresultsoftransientanalysesofbuildingswithfour-,eight-,andsixteen-storymomentresistingsteelframes.Thelimitedtestresultsrevieweddonotcon?rmtheadequacyofthenewpanelzoneprovisionsandfurthermore
